Mark H. Manweiler has over 35 years of experience in litigation, with a success rate of over ninety percent in his jury trials. Mark focuses on criminal law, personal injury law, commercial transaction litigation, and family law, in both state and federal courts. Mark has extensive experience in all areas of criminal law and is a recognized authority on tort claims against governmental entities and civil claims for sexual abuse. Mark has an AV Preeminent Martindale-Hubbel rating and was elected to Outstanding Lawyers of America in 2003, Best Lawyers in America in 2010 and Corporate Counsel Magazine's Top Lawyers in 2011.
Mark has successfully litigated at both the trial and appellate court levels. A representative civil case is Sterling v. Bloom, 111 Idaho 211, 723 P.2d 755 (1986), in which Mark convinced the Idaho Supreme Court to change long standing Idaho law. In 1998, Mark obtained a jury verdict of $683,135 in a slip and fall case involving a knee injury. Mark also has extensive experience in advising high net worth individuals regarding complex business transactions and general legal matters. In 2003, Mark represented the former Mayor of the City of Boise in a pair of high profile criminal cases, obtaining an acquittal in one case and an extremely favorable sentence in the other. Mark regularly represents attorneys, judges and law enforcement officers in their personal legal matters. Mark is a death penalty qualified attorney.
Mark is the founding and managing member of the firm. In his spare time, Mark enjoys skiing, golfing, fishing, bird hunting, running rivers and camping. Mark is married to Terri Pickens Manweiler, who is also an accomplished trial attorney and the founding partner of Pickens Cozakos Law, PA.
